People partner with Habitat for Humanity to build or improve a place they can call home. Habitat homeowners help build their own homes alongside volunteers and purchase the homes with an affordable zero interest mortgage. Through financial support, volunteering, or adding a voice to support affordable housing, everyone can help families achieve the strength, stability, and self-reliance they need to build better lives for themselves. • Permanent Supportive Housing - Long-term, community-based housing, which includes supportive services for homeless people with disabilities
• Affordable Housing Program - Generally defined as housing on which the occupant is paying no more than 30 percent of gross income for housing costs, including utilities
• Rapid Re-Housing Program - An intervention that quickly connects families and individuals experiencing homelessness to permanent housing

• PATH Outreach - Outreach Specialists identify and engage people who are experiencing homelessness
• Workforce Development - Help people with serious mental health conditions enter and succeed in the competitive labor market
• Supportive Services - Housing Support Specialists provide supportive services for people experiencing homelessness, who have disabilities and reside in permanent supportive housing

The Stark Metropolitan Housing Authority (SMHA) provides subsidized, safe, and decent housing and self-sufficient opportunities for residents of Stark County in collaboration with the public and private sector. The SMHA Public Housing Program provides eligible citizens with quality, affordable housing in safe neighborhoods. SMHA's mission is to provide livable communities in safe and nourishing neighborhoods and to provide residents with opportunities to become self-sufficient.
